A/C delete for 1.6

I did a search and could not find a thread regarding deleting the a/c on an '00 1.6 DX Protege. I was looking for the correct sized [shorter] belt needed when removing the a/c compressor. The belt now only needs to drive the power steering pump.

Well I figured it out myself and am posting the belt part number here for anyone else looking for that info. The belt is a Drive Rite [Advance Auto Parts] and the part number is 355K4.

Im curious as to why you removed A/C? Are you in the middle of a big build? or just want it taken out?

I'm a hypermiler and never use the a/c. Don't really need it as far north as I am. I saved 30 lbs. off of the nose of the car by removing the compressor and condenser. My '00 Protege DX [automatic no less] gets 40.5 mpg.

that is sweet, i have the same exact car, hardly ever use the a/c, but it is still nice to have when there is company in the car.
