99 protege not starting

My 99 1.6 pro isn't starting.

I can bump start it, and it runs just fine, with no battery light, but I can't turn key to turn on.

I do't hear a clicking like the solenoid is working.

Where is the solenoid located? The starter is really hard to get access to.

Have you had your battery load-tested? If not, that's where I'd start. Any auto parts store can do it, typically without charging you a dime.

Most solenoids are attached to the starter, but it may be that your battery is too weak to supply sufficient current to turn the engine.
