97 protege and tail lights

Ok I have a 97 protege and just recently had it worked on by my local mechanic. Tonight was the first time I've driven with the lights on since it's been worked on. Well I turned my car off and the lights off and my tail lights are still on. I tried restarting it and driving it around and messing with the brakes that way, but it didn't do anything. I tried to get to the wiring by the tail lights, but there are these button like things that I was afraid I would break. I finally got tired of messing with it so I pulled the fuse and they turned off. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this?

Check relays(or change it new one for once ) and try it again. Most probably problem is relay.

in my honest opinion take it back to the guy who just worked on your lights. if he messed up he should cover it.

Yeah I'm calling him in the morning and see what he says. I just payed him $650 dollars so he should fix it......we'll see what happens

cant go assuming such a thing. its terrible that us technicians are poorly looked down upon, but then again some have really earned bad reps.
^^^^
this is true-i just assumed it was his fault because it started after his work-i know these guys work hard and they get a bad name because of a select few... agree i passed judgement too quick

i agree with you in respect to the fact that mechanics shouldn't automatically be blamed for problems if you just got the car back

however, most good, non-shady mechanics (in my experience) will have no problem looking over your car to find a problem if it seems to be related to the work they did.
