This is for my motorcycle. I put my car on Geico and saved about 200 bucks a year. My car is 2,200 dollars or so per year.

They assured me that this was the correct quote. Progressive wants $540.00 a year on my bike. Looks like I am staying with progressive.

You dont need it in NH either but I have a loan on the bike. I could go buy a new bike every year for that price. Just sent in my payment to progressive.

is that quote for full theft insurance...because that will definitely make the price jump...but for basic liability it shouldn't be nearly as high...if you do full coverage on a bike it's actually quite expensive because of theft and due to the fact that motorcycles are downed so often

I think something is screwy in their software. It should be like 40-60 a month...yeah, your 540 is about right.

Id definitly have it insured for theft, way to many bikes get lifted away, chopped and shipped the **** outta here. Seen it to many times.

Its an '04 HD XL1200

I put maximum deductibles and had to do full coverage because of the loan. I also have full coverage through progressive with the same coverages and deductibles.

The lady called the underwriting department to double check it and the quote was indeed accurate. I just laughed and asked her if it made any sense to her at all. When she first said the amount she didnt even flinch.

Damn canadians, JK

My neighbor got a month old F250 crew cab deisel, enclosed snowmobile trailer and 4 almost brand new snow machines stolen over the weekend. He was in a restaurant with 3 buddies about 4 hours north of Sherbrooke.

I got a quote on a 600cc crotch rocket and it was like 6K. It's because I was an inexperienced operator, the bike was new, the comp and collision were hellishly expensive, and the med pay and uninsured motorist coverage is extremely expensive due to the tendency to get blasted off your bike.

OMG FOR A SPORTY!!! well this is obviously so high for one of two reasons....I honestly believe its most like because of #1.

#1. Progressive WILL insure motorcycles, HOWEVER, because of the slighted view of motorcycles riders and the insurance companies misguided belief that motorcycle riders are risk takers and high risk.....what Progressive does is just give you a quote so high that it makes you look else where....

OR

#2. Your driving record is so bad that it warrents sky high rates....because you are a risk.

I have been riding for a very long time.....longer than some of you here have been alive. I have found two nationwide insurance companies which cater to motorcycle riders and I recommend that you seek them out and get a quote from them. One is Dairyland Insurance, the other is FORMOST.

I have a policy with Formost right now....they were about $50/year cheaper for me.....I have two harley's on a policy...one of which is my wifes and she has only been riding for 2 years, they take that into account as well, and I pay a total of $1400/year for TOTAL FULL COVERAGE. One of those two bikes is a 2003 Screamin Eagle Road King, and the other is a 2005 Heritage Classic. So if you know anything about the specific models....I am insuring to a total of about $46K worth of motorcycles. You are only insuring about $10-12K depending on the model of sporty you have....
