84 Mazda Rx7 GSLSE (TII swap)
Because one project is not enough, and two projects is more my style but three is best because one is almost done...lol i need a girlfriend.

But ive had the silver GSLSE for sometime now and im finally going to get some things done on it before my spring semester starts and during school ill be collecting parts and supplies needed to finish the ordeal. I actually have most of everything already just collecting dust, but i want to get the motor in the car now to run just so i know its still good.

trying to determine if i should use my 12a transmission, rebuild my GSLSE tranmission or use S4 N/A transmissions. Also not sure if the TII flywheel and clutch will just "mate up" with any of those. The goal isnt high power, just a little better than stock motor and i know the N/A can deal with it. Im leaning towards the S4 ones due to the ease of getting them and cheapness attach to them if do destroy one.

Aftermarket wise, im filling in gaps and upgrading accordingly. I have basically every piece i need for the stock parts required. the aftermarket parts are going to be the usual suspects, walbro pump, maybe a aeromotive FPR, FMIC, custom TID, exhaust and DP, etc. No biggie.

Here is the layout so far of what i have in the garage so far. and no none of this came off my TII, im still working on that. Im actually working on that tm a bit.

S4 13bt longblock
GSLSE oil pan
GSLSE front cover
stock s4 turbo, manifold, and actuator (will rebuild the turbo)
uncut wiring harness
boost sensor
ambient pressure sensor
S4 turbo AFM
S4 turbo ECU
550cc injectors (rebuilt)
knock sensor
S4 leading and trailing coils
stuff ive forgot about

some pics of the car.

basically im bring this story in a little late, as i have made more progress than indicated above. Im waiting for the weather to not suck so i can finish this thing.

To do:
-make transmission mount
-get turbo LIM and maybe a fuel rail if i cant find mine
-balance the turbocharger
-basically assemble EVERYTHING.

ill get pictures this weekend.

Comments, suggestions and questions are welcome!

Cool project. Once Im done with school I am going to look into a Renesis swap into the gsl-se. I had a 82 gsl till hurricane Ivan gave it a salt water bath.

Ive heard of a couple already complete on rx-7club. Supposely at least one of the mounts is still the same.

a renesis in a SA/FB would be mighty slow....not! hehe :p

Would be easier on the FB especialy the 84-85 since they are fuel injected to begin with.

Id like to do hat w/ my FC one day but Im sure it would be easier and cheaper to just build a nice carbed 13b

True it would be both easier and cheaper. But not different. Plue I havent a clue as to how a carb works(lol2)

yeah flat tires go a long way in making it impossible to push!

still trying to find a transmission mount or even the damned dimensions for one so i can make one!!!!

My friend locally had a Turbo II swapped GSL-SE. I'll try and ask him what he did for the tranny. His car was damn quick. He used a Haltech to control the fuel.
