719prottege build thread

got my apexi turbo timer in today, spent the rest of the day working on my step brothers gsr ek hatch. made me miss my honda days..

This is me venting all of my frustrations.... OJFBAEJLFNAEL:FEFNAEJKFHI!IP!"HJKP!OH!LJK:H!JL:!HL!!!!!!!! last night i decided to just go ahead and put all my s*** on my car. took off the old msp exhast (which i will be selling btw) and threw on the corksport, no problem sounded awesome. wideband? took about an hour... here is where the fun started, i decided to throw on tha gt28 and thunder manifold... so i took until about 3am taking all my old crap off and swapping lines and wastegates and whatnot.... only to find... the downpipe flange on the gt28 is slightly different than the stocker.... imagine how many F words flew at that moment. i ended up putting all of the stock stuff back on even though many of the downipipe bolts stripped or broke. i did however find my boost problem. the wastegate flab was bent weird so it was staying stuck half opened. well i fixed that and now it boosts great, i just get a ton of hesitation and about 10 afrs when i first go into boost. will be putting on my ssftc soon though. so for now my car is considerably quicker, but sounds like garbledy goop. :D

so my back to the garbldy goop. the car does run 10s when i hit boost in wot but it slowly goes to 12-13. boost is hitting 9psi... still feel it bucking though. could it be the vtcs flaps arent staying open>?

yea i left the turbo at a friends house. when i am around it i will take pics of it. i think its exactly like yours mazdaspeedp... i was reading that thread. it was a turbo i got from a local guy off of and rb26dett supposedly. i might just sell it and get a gt3017r

hmm...never knew there was a difference, thats good to know
but just in case you want to try to fit the turbo....i have like 3 stock MSP exhaust housings in my garage,
i can sell you one, just not sure if the turbine wheel is bigger on that one...may require some porting or something

that wont work either as you can see the 28 exhaust housing is huge compared to the stock 25

installed the split second ftc today. just with the tune it comes with at about 9psi it feels amazingly better. still need to fix my exhaust leek at the downpipe and tune it...

sub'd...great build! What intercooler kit do you have? Or is it DIY?

well the size of the housing really has nothing to do with it, putting the T25 housing on there will just give him a better spool up time since im sure its a smaller AR
the guy who did the turbo upgrades....i forget his name, nick something, used to put t28 CHRA's into the stock housings all the time

thanks man! its a diy CXracing kit. also, forgot to mention. i traded a local MP3 guy my stock hood for his reverse cowl carbon fiber hood. needs some shinning up, but looks sick.
