"65535 Private Messages" FIX!

Check the "Messages: xxx" box at the top right of the message list and then choose "Mark as read" from the pulldown menu in the lower right of the PM list. Click "Go" and it will mark all messages as read and reset your totals correctly.

everytime i get a pm it goes back to 65534. is their any final fix? i can clear them out using the trick mentioned above but is their anything permanent?

Admins, theres a patch you can apply, or upgrade to the latest forum version. Nothing the end user does can permanently fix it. It has to do with the way the forums were upgraded, whoever had an unread pm had the issue or something. I am too lazy to look up the details, I just know theres already a documented permanent fix.

you can also just delete a PM in your box, that will fix it also

go into your inbox and just delete a PM, it should make it no longer show 65535 new messages

Well mine dont show the 65535 no more...but it always shows that I have "1" PM

I have tried that a bunch,and again just now(to be sure)

mine still says "65533"

This happened to me today, I just deleted all my old PM's and it went away, I guess well see if it comes back... it really dont matter tho.
