6 CD in dash player problem/question?

Hello,

I have a 2006 Mazda 3 GT with a 6-CD in dash CD player. (I'm kind of noob forgive this question.)

How are you supposed to load multiple CD's into the player? I read the manual, and it says to hold the LOAD button until it BEEPS, and then select the disk number you want to load.

I press load...and it does not beep at all. Then when i let go of the load button it makes a sound like it's trying to load a single CD...but it won't let me select which CD slot to load it into.

The manual also says that you can turn the BEEP off if you press the load + power button at the same time for 2 seconds...so I tried that but I still don't get a BEEP noise. I tried the "multiple CD insertion" method...which is to hold the LOAD button down until it BEEPS, then hold load again until it says WAIT. So i hold the LOAD button down for a LONG TIME, let it go...then hold it down again...but I get no WAIT on the CD display.

Are you sure you have a 6CD changer? Bear in mind that all Mz3 HU's have the "LOAD" button on the player. To load CD's normally you push LOAD, the display says WAIT, and then it will say IN when it pulls up an available tray.

Also if you have the changer if you push in the left knob it will display 1-6 and have the number highlighted if there's a disc in the tray. Oh and there's a little 6CD icon next to the load button.

Next to the LOAD button it says 6 CD changer. And also I had to get it replaced recently because a CD got stuck. All the GT's came with 6 CD changers stock I'm pretty sure.

When i push the LOAD button, the display does not say anything. It just makes a noise like it's trying to suck in a CD. Is this normal? No matter if i hold the LOAD button, or i just click it...the LCD does not say anything... =(

Sounds like there's a problem with it. Like I said if you just push the load button it should say "WAIT" for at least a second or so until it brings a tray up.. then it will say IN. Take it back to the dealer.

The dealer may have replaced the head unit with a non-changer and re-used your original faceplate.

I know this because I bought a junkyard 2006 CD changer and swapped out my 08 Sport faceplate in order to get the trip computer function and the changer.

I would take it back ASAP.
