6.5 speakers in fr door?

The OEM Bose speakers in the 07 MS3 fr door are 6.5"? It is suggested that they be replaced with 5 x 7 or 6 x 8. Has anyone sucessfully installed a 6.5" speaker and if so did it fit without mods?

The stock speakers are 5x7 i believe. Or 6x8, I cant remember. I put my 6.5" Alpine type r's in the front with zero modification. All you need is the adapter plate that most manufacturers ship with their speakers. Screw in the adapter plate, then screw in your speaker....Bob's your uncle

the sport uses ovals
the blose drivers are rounds, 6~6.5, .... its been along time. I cant remember how much intergrating they did with the door and mount etc

if you are looking for exact replacement without any adapterplates or other, mods, then mebbe hiring an installer is the best route,
