5mm Spacers on a 60mm offset Mazda 6 Wheel?

Ok, I've searched all the threads, but haven't found a definitive answer.

I'm going to put 17x7 60mm offset Mazda6 wheels on my P5. If I were to use some 5mm spacers the wheels, then they would be a 17x7 55mm offset wheel, just like the MSP RHs right? So no rubbing with a 215/40-17 tire?

When I put the spacers on, will I need to get longer studs or should there be enough thread on the stock studs to secure the wheel?

Get longer studs. I was not comfortable with 5mm spacers on the stock lugs.

So if I were to get a 5mm spacer/stud combo like:

Then everything would be ok? No rubbing?

I just got outbid on the M6 wheels on ebay, and I'm glad.

From what I've gathered from reading every thread on the subject....

You can put M6 wheels on a P5. But if you lower you car it becomes more difficult. Your back tires will rub on the strut housing. You can get wheel spacer kits like the one from H&R ($120 total) but you have to throw away the studs they give you and use ARP studs from a Camaro (I think around $30) and then you should be ok. But some people feel that using any spacer even as small as 5mm can damage the wheel bearings and even make the car unsafe. Then you need to buy aftermarket lugnuts (around $40-50) to work with the longer studs.

By then you've spent hundreds more dollars. But that is just what I've read from other threads, not from personal experience.

Just thought I'd let people know.

I've got 18" wheels from a Mazda6 (non-Mazdaspeed) on my P5 and they fit fine. Using 215/35 rubbers, and it was a tight fit on the struts, but no rubbing. The offset is a little much so they're kinda tucked under the fenders, but I may experiment with spacers in the future.

Ya those are like the RX-8 wheels, except not as wide. It will fit on a P5.
