52" RCA HD TV 1,000!!!!

RCA is pure crap

We made the mistake of trying to use there monitors a few years back. We had a 1 in 3 failure rate from just about every damn thing you could think of. They are assembled dirt cheap with complete crap parts and are designed like junk aswell.

Don't be awed by shinned turds with low price tags.
The reality is that if it was worth more, it would be priced higer.

I'm a little confused. Are you saying RCA isn't that good?:)

good for mom and dad, but projection TVs are the stepchildren of HD.

Before I saw the sony Qualia 006 I would have agreed.
I would get that over damn near anything now.

over 10 grand for a rear progection just kinda seems wrong with todays technology... but i haven't seen one so i have no idea...

That depends on how much you feel crap is worth. It will work, for how long who knows and it will be a sub par picture as it attempts to not suck.

I figure if you are not going to be spending the money to buy something good, then why by anything? You would be better off buying a 34" Sony Tube TV for that price. They are HD and are well regarded as having a superior picture to all but the best plasmas.

If you only saw it dead on, you would swear it was Sony's best Plasma. Except aint no one got a 70" plasma yet. I have been yelled at twice for watching it instead of working now.

Rear projection is currently the best way to get the best medium sized image (65-84"). for a 70" image, nothing else except front projection can even create the image (there are some exceptions). Front projection is useless with ambiant light if you are looking for a quality image. With even moderate room lighting, a 84" front projector had better have 5000 lumens or it will not look anywhere near as bright as the average TV. Until Plasmas and LCDs are capable of getting bigger for less money, rear projection will be the best option.

You should have seen the 8,000 lumen, 120" rear projection system we did for a customer. (thumb)
