5 spd manual shifter

i am curious to find out from the people who already have the mazda 6 how do they like the shifter for the 5spd manual? does it feel good? does it shift into each gear well without any notchiness. how would you rank the shifter on a scale from 1 to 10? let me know.

i have a 6s 5 speed. i love the shifter. i had a honda before. hondas are always noted for their shifters. had a few friends drive the car. all comment how it feels like a honda shifter...nice short throw..feels good and not notchy..per say a 5 speed f body or a mustang or whatnot. if i had to rate it. it's about a 8.5-9 on a scale of 10

5 speed

I bought a 6s with a 5-speed. What a pain in the ass to locate a manual transmission with the V6, sport package, leather in Lapis blue.
The 5 speed is pretty good. I have been driving various manual transmissions over the last 10 years. The best manual transmission being in a 93 Nissan Sentra SE-R. The 6 is about an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. The only thing I don't care for is the clutch engagement in 2nd gear. It seems to be a little unsmooth at slow speeds. Otherwise relatively short throws, no problems finding the gears. It's a very nice car.
