3RD GEN Protege endlinks, front and rear, NEW!!

got the PM: mechanic (don't need one, but cannot work on car in apartment p-lot) said the Progress RSB will not fit with the AXR kit. dammit! Brand new Progress RSB for sale!! lol

so ive had these for a couples of months and figured i'd give some input, unfortunately its the bad kind

so ive been gettin the clunk/squeak again, figured the brushings were dry again so this weekend i went home and worked on them. lubed them up and what do i find, the endlinks are rusting in areas, so some parts are stainless, some are just good old steel. not only that but they are loose, both of them, hence where some of my clunking was coming from. i tried to tighten them but realized that its extremely difficult, because of the allen head bolt, to tighten without taking the wheel off, i used a vice grip and tighten it down.

all in all im unhappy that there is rust on my high quality endlinks, i live in Florida so the car doesnt seem to many elements, just rain. The loosening could be unrelated, but im a big guy, so i can tighten bolts pretty good, beyond German specs. Ill update should they become loose again

lame dude.. check on the canadian forum about the other links..

they look promising more so.

I used to be stationed in FL (95-98) and I remember the atlantic side has rust issues, due to the salt water and air mixture. Either way, call vivid and see if they might swap them out. In the mean time, let's see pics!

On the other hand, mine are GREAT, not a single issue after over 5000 miles.

Also, if you read the description, there should be no surprises as to what they are made of:

"The Agency Power sway bar links have a strong 6061 aluminum center that has flats for easy wrench adjusting. In addition, the AP rear sway bar links use extremely heavy duty spherical rod ends unlike the competition. These rod ends are a 3 piece part with Teflon inside to prevent dirt build up. These right and left hand threaded rod ends allow you to precisely corner balance and adjust your car. Strong steel hardware with stainless collars allow for a perfect fit that will not clunk or rust."

well, there is rust on mine, which sucks but isnt terrible. i have definitly gone down in how much detail i put into this car since i moved out of my house... and my garage. so some rust, although upsetting, wont make me call the company and ask for replacement parts, that i would have to install. the bolts loosening does upset me though

Very true, but if only 3 people have bought them, I cannot blame them for not wanting to:
-Change the design
-Start a GB
-Fab fronts

wow, only 3. i figured with such a long thread that there would be more sets in the market.nnstill, they would sell more if they came out wit upgrades from time to time, keep consumers wanting

anyway, here is the pic of my endlink, its hot as balls outside so i only snapped one b4 heading back in the house lol

Realistically you could just buy 2 sets and go onto the many parts distributors out there and pick up the right size aluminum connecting rods for the front. No they wouldn't be a pretty anodized blue but who cars about that.
