3rd Gear Rolll!!! Surge at 5k

If this has been happening before i never noticed it. Since i got my car back a few days ago from oil change/service. i have been driving conservatively to save gas. I start getting on it today and i noticed a surge at 5k rpms when i did a 3rd gear roll. It feels like a small power drop/surge and its not fuel cut or anything. i did 1-4 and it didnt do it...any explanations. i thought i might try driver's solution by pulling the coil on the cover of the spark plug... but its wierd that i never noticed this and its only from a 3rd roll..im going to try again 2moro and see if it still does this... maybe its the colder weather? or dirty filter? i dont know...all opinions welcome(drinks)

I feel random power losses when going from part throttle to full. I think on mine its dependant on what rpm you start at. I have been ignoring it. Its just now warming up here so I hope it disappears above 50 degrees.

cover of the spark plug = coils. pull the spring, and turn down the boost if you're modified.

stock psi, mods are intake, motor mount, and gutted 2nd cat. i may try this anyways.

Mine has always done this. Even with no mods.

mine does this to and at 5th and 6th gear at wot it SUCKS cause i was raceing a cammed ls1 formula and the i couldnt pass him cause i was stuck at 5k in 5th or els i would have took the win!!!!!!!!! it made me soooo mad...

Umm hopefully you weren't doing this on public roads?

thread closed now? yea its wierd it hasnt it done it since but 3rd gear roll floor it at about 3k-3.5k rpms and when i get to 5k-5.1k i feel a small surge like if i release some throttle then get on it again. its not HUGE but u feel the pause in power

Has anyone hooked up a boost gauge to see if there is a leak or quick blip in the pressure?

I'd also like to see a dyno...maybe there's some sort of weird A/F spike.

boost holds but i jsut feel it

Yup same thing was happening to me before my motor blew, now it's happening again, especially if you give any sort of agreesive throttle in sixth.

i took off my BC and went stock and for me it runs a whole lot better... and feels a whole lot faster i have no more surges... ill just wait to turn up my boost when i get a fuel pump or the cobb tuner which ever comes first...
