3m carbon fiber wrap...

The previous owner gave me a sheet of it and I've been getting more and more bold with it, I'll throw up my latest projects as I get them finished up.

the cup holder and shifter plate look good but the whole stereo surround is just too much for me. not bad for a first attempt(hi)

Somebody send me a small scrap and I got plenty of clear to test it out for you guys. I just have yet to order it thanks to my trunk cancer (rusted out)

This stuff is awesome. I'm not sure why some guys are saying it's hard to apply...as far as vinyls go, this is the most forgiving product I've worked with. Even when you mess up and crease it, you can still fix your mistake by heating it (on low with a heat gun) and undoing the crease. Inside corners, concave, and compound curves are easy with this product so long as you take your time.

I covered my AC panel, and Caska 3635g this weekend as well as the four door switch trims panels and steering wheel controls. Here's a pic...oh, and I also got leather armrest and ebrake boot in the mail today ($50USD from ebay sellor), matching the OEM shifter boot. Love it!

fyi, thats a sat radio mount hanging off the right using a car-specific bracketron mount...i know, it looks like s*** but i need my sat radio!

I am waiting to try this extreme show gloss clear I got as a tester on it (thanks to the wonderful pieces I got in the mail to play with.). I am going to clear the grill soon so while it is in the gun... Updates to follow.

Cant say enough about this stuff, spent the better part of today covering interior trim with this stuff. A hairdryer, razor blade, and patience is all you need. Ive used up 4 square feet as of today, and am planning on buying 8 more to keep the look going. *** Oh and I clear coated a scrap just for s****, It looks great head on BUT when you look at it at an angle you cant see the fiber anymore it just looks like black gloss.

how many coats did you apply? and how heavy? I am trying the actual clear and not the can. I am going for the real CF look.

808,
I just applied a piece of that wrap to the spare plastic piece that I had. Let me know how much clear you want me to spray to get the look you are trying to achieve. I can send the sample to you if it turns out good if you want it. That stuff is easy to apply. Heat makes it soo much easier.

No worries. I just wanna see what you do to it.
