I now know what i must do for my full time SCCA car. I love my MP3, but i don't want to tear her apart.

The closest thing i've found is a 1988 323 GT which is the same motor B6T but its a sedan and FWD. What do you people think? I know Kaptain will stab in here.

I've read time and again that the AWD drivetrain on the GTX's is not-so-beefy, and parts are rare and expensive. I might go for the less complicated, more sleeper-rific GT sedan. Or, pick up an old 323 hatch and throw in that $3600 MSP complete drive-train in the FS section! :D

me or kyle? :)

its funny, i actually bid on a 323GT a few months back on ebay and had kyle go and test drive it. he was fairly impressed with the car. i think it would make a great track car. the electronicaly adjustable suspension would be of benefit.

The stock electric suspension was, from what I've heard from the GT owners, complete crap and getting replacements today is near-impossible.

It seems that a lot of the BF-bodied GTX owners have been migrating over to the BG drivetrain. Corksport has done a full, AWD Protege drivetrain install into their grey BF-body GTX, along with the BPT swap. It's pretty fast, and I had a good time dicing with it at Laguna Seca.

Parts are not too hard to come by, as there is a tight network of GTX owners, and a small industry to support the rally people.

The rear differential was used in the Miata, except for the stub axles. So getting a LSD for the rear is just a phone call away to MSM or on ebay.

The awd MPV uses a part or two that are shared with the GTX. I forget if it was the spindles, hubs, or something else.

The later, BG body GTX trannies are still common, and getting one is pretty cheap. The plus-side is that it comes with a VLSD front diff. The downside is that custom axles have to be made, but that's why you go to www.raxles.com anyways.

I'm using an MX-6 GT intercooler and 5th gear, RX-7 fuel pump, Escort GT calipers and electronic glass sunroof, Miata VSLD, Mitsubishi VR4 rotors, and a Chevy S-10 front air dam.

Plenty of parts to work with. (nana)

Not to hi-jack, but how much power are you pushing through the Miata VLSD?

At the moment, I have absolutely no idea.
I dyno'd the car when it only had a chip, exhaust, and boost controller and it put down 135hp at all four wheels at 15psi if memory serves me.

Since then I've also installed a hybrid VJ14/11. I couldn't tell you how much, if any, difference that made. I bought this turbo with rallycrossing and jaunts up the mountain in mind. It sure isn't a T3/T4 or disco potato. It's still a tiny thing by comparision.

I don't know kyle, or at least i don't think i do.

Captain + Ken = Kaption ;)

That's probably the best looking GTX I have ever seen.

GTX's and GT's are awesome little cars.

If you wanted to travel to get it i know i guy here that has a incredible 323 hatch, Ben might know him he works at sykart, the thing is awesome. All try to find some pics, i know he wants 3300 or best offer. But all find some pics and info.

What years did they make that body style for the 323 Hatch?
Mine is a BF-body 323 - 86-89. They were only offered in the 88-89 model years.
The later, more better GTX, is based on the BG body 90 - 93 I believe.

I was planning on taking the GTX down to Buttonwillow for MazFest, but I just bought a house and it needs some remodeling. Damn, now I have two money-pits.....

Where's he located? I'm sure I wouldn't mine traveling too much for it.

I like the older body better, assuming i understand all this correctly, but they sold a GTX in 90-93 years? Or just a GTX in a certain year with the body that was in the 323 years 90-93?

Yeah, Dru... known that guy for many years.

I have pics of that car, not updated ones though. I've only seen it a few times since he did the powdercoating.
