323 gtx build

right now im chasing a missfire at idle issue, ordering a t28 or t3 soon along with ss manifold, megasquirt and 460 cc injectors. i plan on pushing it to 300 whp or above on stock internals till it pops. also slowly accumulating parts for the evo swap which right now is being pushed back to next winter due to paying for wedding. depending on money. also trying to buy a house soon at the same time so its not at the top of my prioities. id rather have a garage lol.

along with protege getting a new trans and rebuilding to motor in it so i can have a reliable daily. while my fiancee is shopping for a mazda 3

This is pretty much when I first got it. One of 1250 gtx's made for North America and one of 320 vivid yellow mp3s. I love having cars nobody else has

Yeah, I would never have guessed that the 323 has more ponies than the protege. No offence. But hey, thats what makes it a sleeper...

I kinda really want a 99 protege too, so I can be that one creepy guy who collects the same model cars. Just for randomness...

waiting for updates. selling it doesn't count :P

It actually had 132 chp stock so even stock it's faster than a protege :) my fiance attempted to race it in the mp3 yesterday it was a joke. Sad part was I only had it on 8psi due to boost controller being weird

Any way it had its first drive in the snow under my ownership today. It felt right at home

Just to show that there was actually snow on the road and not just snowing lol. I love unexpected snow storms

Something is screwing up with the speedometer, I'm guessing the cable is bad. We pulled it all apart and it helped it some but still sounds like the gears are grinding together.

Anyway I wanted to do something different so I did this

Unfortunately its going away tomarow. Trading it for a 6spd awd civic wagovan tomarow. Need something easier on gas. And I've always had a weakness for them

:(

That's all I can muster. If its a necessity, I can understand. Would have liked to have seen some more progress but ya gotta do what ya gotta do...

Not a necessity but planing a wedding and everything this is getting in the way. And I've always wanted to build a 240. Which I've already told my fiance as soon as the wedding stuff is done its happening.

It's Atleast going to a good home, as for the wagovan all I need is 300 bucks and ill have a full turbo setup except for intercooler and piping

Looks like I may be keeping it, guy didn't get it today.

Played around with a 260whp delsol tonight he barely pulled on me. Kind of making me think something's been done internally cause they're about the same weight and I should only be making 190-200 whp

yay and dang.

Yay cause Mazda.

Dang cause im sure you were quite looking forward to the civic. Would you mind posting a link or pic of what the other car looks like please?

If there are upgraded internals or something, maybe you're one step closer if you wanted to run a bigger turbo or more boost on the current one? Or put the money into getting that rear diff fixed? Just a mental string of thought. By all means, do as you'd like :) I personally would like to see the car progress!!!

Just google civic wagovan.

The motors will hold 300 whp safely, its just finding a way to tune it. The turbo I'm using now is at its limits, if I do keep it I'm going with a t28

You really do like your different cars. That wagovan looks quite neat. In a perfect world, that would be cool if you had the 323 and the wagovan. But then the decisions on which one to drive may be difficult ;)

Ya, I'm debating it that's for sure. I just don't know if I can get into something slow again. I was originally doing it for something easier on gas and easier to find parts for untill I realized all the hard to find stuff I've already gotten

IMO, I'd keep it b/c, as you just said, you have the difficult to get bits. And its rare. And from what I figure, its relatively reliable? that's not to say the Honda wouldn't be more reliable. Just try and weigh the pros and cons. Im sure you drive relatively sensibly so idk as far as gas mileage. Try and see if others are getting better mileage??? Idk. At the end of the day, you gotta do what you want, I shouldn't try and steer you to keeping the 323 but it does look pretty nice :)

Ya I'm not always sensible in it, I get 18ish normally. If I keep it out of boost 22-23

I have an interview for full time where I work on the 7th, if I get the job ill probly keep it. I can get all of the awd stuff except the trans for $100 so it may be going back to awd this summer if I keep it. Especially since the money I have saved up to get my cdl can be dumped into it

The car aside, hopefully you get the job :)

If you dont mind me asking, what happened with the CDL thing? You mentioned "saved up"... If you dont want to talk about it, absolutely no hard feelings!

I dont wanna know what my mileage is in my P5...

I have to wait 2 months in order to see a specialist to clear me from where I fractured a vertebrae in August so that I can get the paper workfor my physical finished, then I have to wait 30 days and take a 4 day class. Huge ******* head ache

The protege averages 28-32 bone stock except an intake

Okay, I see. Well hopefully those go well! That really does seem like a headache!

Im quite surprised the Protege is that good. Mind you, I havent had a chance to drive mine about and get a good baseline. ha hopefully it'll be decent. At least better than my mom's 11mpg in her jeep. Lol.
