2nd Gen CX-5 and CX-9 Suspension Compatibility?

Hello. Has anyone ever owned both a CX-9 and a CX-5? I used to own a 5 but moved up to the 9 when we had another kid. I know it’s not uncommon for people to move up. Anyway, has anyone ever noticed suspension parts, particularly shocks and struts. After some research it seems like both the 5 and 9s rear shocks have about the same travel. I lowered the 9 on Corksport springs and I want to support it with some new shocks and struts. Preferably Bilsteins. Unfortunately they’re not available for the 9. From the looks of it though, seems like the shock and strut bodies are the same. I’m guessing the valving is different though. I’ve contacted Bilstein and sent them interest so we’ll see how that goes. Or maybe anyone on here work at Mazda to be able to compare? Thanks.
