In all honesty, there should really be a NorCAL event and a SoCAL event. Trying to cater to both is impossible. Because SD is just too damn far south, and the Bay Area...well isn't all that far north, but considering the distances involved, we might as well be in different states.

So there should just be a NorCal event somewhere in the South Bay, and a SoCal event somewhere in South LA.

That way all the NorCal people (including Monterey, etc) can make it to that, and all the So Cal people (San Diego, etc) can make it to the other one. And if there are some REALLY dedicated people who want to go all the way down to LA or vice versa, then so be it. But trying to find a good spot for the WHOLE state is a lesson in futility I think. It's just too damn BIG!!

I think that NO Cal, SO Cal thing won't work. I don't know how often all of North Cali get together, but So Cal is often. Both SD and LA have weekly meets, and twice now Randy, Peter and I have made it up to LA for theeir meet. If we wanted everyone in SO Cal to meet up in like...OC, that would be cool, but that's not what we are trying to do here. We are trying to get ALL of California. This WILL be mandatory, you WILL wear the Randy hot rice model tshirt...wait, I'm sorry Ghost trip.

My 2 cents, for what it's worth. All of CA, not north and south then call eachother on the phone thing...

I agree. It should be one meet for nor-cal and so-cal. The annual all California Protege meet.

Santa Barbara is a good compromise I think.

Have the meet in the early afternoon like 1:00 or 2:00 or something like that and give people time to get there.
