but is it cheaper to building the engine then just buying a other build ingine because i have a engine witch is good my engine has about 140km on it im from canada. i just want to put my turbo about 14 psi without no issue

its definately cheaper to just to build your stock block. The draw back to this is that you'll most likely be without your car for 4-6 weeks unless you have a spare engine that can be worked on. An assembled short block would only take a couple days or less to install.

I would love to have that power. Could you help me out. Let me know what parts I need and how to get it tuned. I dont really want to givve up on this car knowing that it does have some kind of potential.

The car definately does have potential but it has weak points like any other car.

If you want to make over 250whp you will need the typically turbo toys...fmic (or meth inject), exhaust, boost controller, etc.

You can also get intake & exhaust manifolds, cams, etc that'll help increase power but they aren't necessary.

Main things you need are...
1. Upgrade Fuel - Bigger injectors, 255lph pump
2. Engine Managment - Something that will control at least fuel/timing
3. *weld the LSD
4. *upgrade your clutch
5. *forge your internals
6. *bigger turbo

* aren't necessary but recommended

Tomorrow's the big day :)

shooting for 300-320whp. Wish me luck that my gears hold together.

Good luck man! How much boost is needed for those numbers, 21psi? Run that guy in the 350Z TT again after the dyno...lol

sound about right.

the 350z-tt unfortuneately down right now, and won't be running for another 2 months. but a couple of my friends have vortec s/c kits on the way for their Z's so i'll make sure to get that on tape.

Good luck with the dyno.

thanks, i'll need a lot of it :)

couldn't finish it today, i have to go back tomorrow morning bright and early.

the high for today was 212whp at 8psi and it was 100 degree outside!

Damn Mike, those are some nice ass numbers for only 8psi. Get there early tomorrow to beat the heat, and Good luck.

Very nice...I keep lookin on this thread to see the power you will be making because we both will be having a very similar setup. What manifold do you have? I may sell the 440s I have and go bigger like you but right now I still need to build the engine. Everything is just sitting in my garage.

Our turbys are the best...I made 196 on 5psi. :)

no 300whp again :(

pinging owns me. can't figure out why but the car pings at 3.5-4.8krpm at boost levels as low as 8psi.

we ran it a bunch of time at 10-12psi but no matter how much timing we pulled it kept on pinging. i even changed my spark plugs from the ngk zfr7f-11 to the bkr7e (gapped .024) and although it was a little better, it still pinged too much to add boost to get 300whp...

the high of the day and overall was 261whp @ 11-12psi. shrug.

Damn bro. Looks like if I ever get my motor built, I'm going with Haltech tuned by tbk/hiboost or Unichip tuned by JDMsam.

Good luck though... sucks to hear this.

so what did the shop recommend you do?

didn't really have any recommendation except trying some new plugs.

i hope my current issue isn't what is swaying you from avoiding the microtech b/c its a great unit.

So what exactly is causing the problems, the tune? It can't just be your spark plugs.... ?

You were running 15psi and now your having problems at 8-11psi, maybe I missed something, correct me if I'm wrong.

how are they detecting the detonation? by ear?

its not that simple because the last time i tuned for 15psi it was a much cooler day in february as to the past couple days which as reached over 100. also when he tuned for my 15psi in february he could only detect audible pinging b/c he didn't have a knock amp, so i couldve been detonating w/o knowing. This time he does so he can detect it long before it becomes audible.

turfburn also said i was using the wrong plugs, so i jus got the ones he suggested, the ngk brk6e. i'm gonna give these and shot and monitor my egt since i don't have a knock amp. i'll keep you guys updated.
