dynotuned my car at Altered Atmosphere in Gaithersburg MD today and here are the results (dynojet)...

At 10psi i baselined 193whp w/ my mods. (edit i made 199whp)

after couple hours of tuning...

At 15psi i made 257whp and 261wtq on a conservative tune...

I don't have an EGT gauge and they had no way to measure my knock so they didn't feel comfortable pushing my car and i agreed. i already endured one blown motor and 6 months of down time, so i wasn't gonna risk it again for 20whp.

i was hoping for higher numbers but i know there is still a lot of untapped power since i'm still using the stock intake and exhaust mani... so hopefully by spring i'll be in the 300's.

Chart will be posted shortly...

ya their shop is very nice. their shop is huge with a lot of sick cars, mostly 350z, g35, vq motor ya kno but they work on all kinds of cars. they actually tuned a few mazdaspeed proteges w/ Unichip so they are familiar w/ the protege setup which is nice.

yea i got the unichip and i need a retune after i put this new intercooler on there. how much did they charge to tune there?

yea shoot me a email tiffanddame@yahoo.com.

i should get my car back on monday i had a hole in my radiator, so we can meet after that.

Nice, good job Mike. Im glad to see you found a shop to tune your car. Best of luck to you.

just retard it enough, like 12-16 max advance and you will be safe enough. We got 267whp with ~11-12psi with 14deg advance.

thanks mark.

damn nice numbers. i'm not sure what the timing is set at, i haven't check it out yet. i'll take a look at it when i get a chance. i'm sure theres plenty more power to squeeze out. before the last run where i made 257, i was only making 235-240whp. mike, my tuner, talked to turfburn and advanced the timing some and squeezed out an extra 20whp.

i just ordered an egt gauge and will be going halves w/ the shop for an ecu harness so he can monitor knock. i'll be going back in spring for a retune.

Wow... This is wierd... I go to Harrisburg (specifically Mechanicsburg) all the time to visit people, seeing as I went to Penn State Harrisburg (now University Park) and I work in Columbia, MD every summer (I live in Frederick, MD). I am hardcore down for a meet sometime!

BTW, are you two going to the Carsile show? I'll be there.

Great job on the power, I bet you can keep up with a lot on the Pike!

Good numbers - very similar to what I had 264 whp / 264 ft*lbs, but I squeezed more out with my Microtech I guess (that was at 12 psi). So you have some room for improvement. Turfburn and NSN Motorsports have certainly learned a good deal about tuning these engines (he did the tune on mine that got those numbers too). Great to see the numbers!!!

I think one of the reasons why you have 257whp at 14psi and not more is because you are at 8.5cr. I remmember you being a little higher at 14psi before, but then again you had stock cr. Nevertheless i will be using your map he he, since we have the same injectors and all.

ya i'll be in carlisle, jus 20 mintues from where i live. if i'm not at the show, i'll at least be at the pike that nite.

the pike has gotten to be a really bad place to go. you can't hang out anywhere now w/o getting kicked out. ever since they raided a meet carpet mart and gave like 40 people $250 dollar tickets for loitering, the pike has been very boring unfortunately.

ya i saw your dyno numbers, those are some great numbers. i guess the pnp head and mani really help. what compression ratio are your pistons?

the last time i dynoed i made 240whp @ 15psi on the gt28rs on the stock block w/ the afc at PhillyDyno... but my #3 cylinder was all messed up... when we ran a compression test #3 was 135 while the others were about 190. so its hard to compare the two.

nice numbers!
How does the car feel on the street and have you raced someone with this power?

Every time I'm down there I usually do a couple runs down the pike and usually end up at the Sheetz. Funny thing about that Carpet Mart incident was that my close friend was one of the guys busted there. He was the only one who got off the hook though with community service. He drives a blue 02 Nissan Sentra SE-R. I'll let you know next time we're down there.

car feels great, especially the tq. 2nd gear is absolutely worthless now at WOT even from a roll. my tires jus spin.

i raced my buddy's modded 350z, the last time we raced we were basically neck and neck up to 150mph when i was making 199whp (3rd gear roll). since the tune, i raced him again and had him by about 3 car lengths by 120mph before we shut down (3rd gear roll).

haha ya we always end up at sheets too. we start off at the sheets off of paxton street in harrisburg, then go to the one on the pike, then work our way back to rt22 to the colonial common's movie theater in harrisburg, then sometimes hit up the sheets in linglestown and hershey if its a good nite. ya definately let me know the next time you're out.

I don't have the specs sheet, i bought the block from another member on the forum... this is what was on their site...

Mental Addiction Motorsports Built Short Block
- Forged 8.5:1 Wiseco Pistons
- 20 overbore
- forged MAM H-beam long rods
- knife edge crank
- toga bearings
- arp studs
- new oil squirters
- new freeze plugs
- new oil galley plugs

We address the crank walk issuse by having a second thrust bearing machined and installed($400), crank nitrated a second time($100) and then micro polished, line hone, square deck, bored, honed, plateau, all oil gallay's chaffered, full block debur, etc.

Yeah, all that polishing had to accomplish something, right? I mean otherwise I wasted my money. I wasn't knocking your results though, just trying to give some encouragement - they are good numbers. As for compression, I run stock compression with a lighter set of rods and machined down crank - not that it really matters, but the car runs SO good - I know how you feel.
