Ive been trying to look at everyones sig in this post....what FMIC are you guys running? Which one would give the most HP? ion, another brand??

Custom...

FMIC2.jpg

HiBoost TS
Rishie's
Jared's
Mia Protege's (1.6 protege with 440s)
YP5 Toronto's
Kasman's
maybe 15 other people not in the forums

All of these guys are running Haltech with 440s and I do not see them complaining about bad idle.

Do a search, their are several FMIC for the MSP on the market. Each one has it's Pro's and Con's.You will need to see what best suit's your needs and desires. Here is a list

Mental Addiction Motorsports(MAM)
IOn
BEGI
Pan
Hiboost

I am running a haltech with 550cc rc enginering injectors. I am running my idle air in a pwm in the open loop operation at around 12 to 15 ms and have great idle no stumble no hesitation but I am not running any stock ecu has been removed completley from car.

Good, that is what I do in most cars. Just run the Haltech alone, but not in bolt on kits. It is just too complicated for the final user to do.

This is the only way I had my RSX run 645 WHP.

Yes, this is correct. There are enough to choose from. There are people in the forums with all these and can tell the pros and cons of each.

450-500 is an insane amount for a protege. i hope to be around 300-350. soon to make additional head mods that will support 400whp. I want about 275-325whp daily.

Thats is insane for any FWD car. Saab engineers said anything above 250 whp was useless, then they came out with a car that had 280 whp (doh). One of the early pioneers of FWD cars...we can thank them for killing cheap RWD cars. But that was said back in the day where cars didnt have tracktion control.

I will be happy with 280-320 hp. Anyhitng above that I still think is kind of pointless on a FWD car. When asked why you would do such a thing...common answer is "becasue I can." Nothing wrong with that and if you want to go for 400-500 hp then best wishes. Im more about usable hp and not a dyno queen or drag strip queen. Obviously we still need people to pusht he limit so we know what can be done and better products will be developed...but 400-500 ponies in a FWD car is crazy. I cant even imagine the torque steer the thing will have. im not a big fan of FWD drag racing or drag racing in general but hey to each their own. Look like this summer will be the year of high hp Proteges...cant wait. I will be waiting!

When you have a high HP FWD it's alot of fun when you are running.from a stop you have to ease into the throttle.

somebody on this forum is putting down 263whp on stock internals w/ a disco potato. i forget who off the top of my head.

I believe that would be 505Zoom @ 12 psi w/ the MAM FMIC and Tubular Manifold (and I think iON 3" TBE) etc. Not sure though.

This is 505Zoom(Rich). He is running the following

Mental Addiction FMIC
Mental Addiction tubular manifold
MPI tuner with 2 extra injectors
Magnas 3" exhaust

In the coming week he will be adding our 2.5" Downpipe on as well.

Yea... but just think what 350-400whp would be like boosting on a highway!

I get chills just thinking about it. You could really **** a lot of cars up. nobody thinks mazdas are fast... it would be fun to prove them wrong.

well i should be there soon enough ... only thing stopping me now is the stock turbo. i guess we'll see how high it can go in about 3 weeks or so, once the car is done.

it'll take a bit of time before i can reach 300 though ... wont be able to get a new turbo till later this year =\

Don't push the T-25 over 15 PSI It will blow Red Hot.

What is your base idle speed? What about starting, hot and cold? What is your HC and CO at idle? Where is a dyno sheet? Your car is no longer legel.

My idle rpm is between 900 and 1000 when my fan or my ac comes on its about 950 when I start in the morning it will idle about 1200 as far as the other setting not sure I had another guy set those paramiters and as far as a dyno sheet I tryed to import them in but it keeps saying you are not authorized not sure what I am doing wrong and never really got good result I was having problem with my avcr have not had time to go back to dyno since I got it fixed but I am geting curious what it will do.
