235/40/18 on RX8s?

thanks for the pics on page 1...i love that car. wheels are a tad wider..not sure wat that means for me...i tink im gonna do the 235/40 anyway.

i was just talkin to someone on the other forum, skeeter, hes selling his for 5bills...ur guy selling for less? I told skeet at 565 new...500 is a hard buy used...if ur dude is less lemme know!

LoL..same guy. Thats a good price... Its powdercoated.

lol ok kool...yeah we talked alot, i told him id sleep on it. thanks for the heads up though and all the hlp. take it easy ;)

Well shoot....you should have no problem then with the 40 series profile. Maybe get 3mm spacers to clear on the inside. I'm running the 225/45s on 18x8.5 +48. No rubbing at all

this is why i regret not getting white. and the wing extension, does it bolt on or do u have to drill it in?

u running 225/40 on yours with the BCs all the way down? You have RX8s? Got any pics?

im not all the way down with the 225/45s and i rub a little. Thas why i was curious if i shud even go the 235/40s
Sorry, no pictures. Yes, RX-8s with 225/40 Kuhmo SPT. All the way down and have a good 1/2-3/4" wheel gap still. Still thinking about taking off one of the rings all around.

With stock wheels, all the way down on 225/45's sucks. It rubbed in the front on the fender liners and the rear it only rubbed on the bumper part and a little higher then where the rear doors end. But 225/45's are way taller then 225/40's and wider/taller then the stock 215/45's. 235/40 tires are barely taller then stock tires but wider. I say just try it and the worst you'll have to do is roll your fenders. But at your height now, I doubt it'll be bad.

that makes sense, wasnt looking to go down a size (225/40). if you could get a pic id really appreciate it. I want to lower mine some more as well.

here is mine with 245/40's and the mazdaspeed lowering springs.

slight rubbing on the inner plastic fender liner and the back outer fender. a little rolling and its all gone.

wow those look great!! Here I am worried about 235 and ur running 245...they dont even seem to bulge at all...wonder why??

ya. they fit really well. be careful though. some 235's are wider than others.

btw, these are the stock tires off an sti. you can get a set super cheap on their forums. i got mine from a local sti owner with 600miles on them for 400.
