well i currently have 215/40/17's on my wheels since thats what they came with but with the bad roads here in kansas city i plan on going back to oem size or even 225/45's. for those that have the 225's is it worth the extra price?
yes, 225's will fit easily on stock wheels.. but 225-45-17's will rub.... if you cut the fender wells, and get spacers you will be fine.. but besides that, it wont work... several ppl have tried
i had 225/45/17 on my msp, completely slammed and it was fine. It did rub a little bit when i raised the car back up, but just roll the fenders and u wont have a problem at all.

It depends on the tire. NOT all 225/45/17 tires are the same. Azenis 225/45/17 will rub. Other 225/45/17 might be fine. I am planning on getting Kuhmo 712 225/45/17. They might not be the best tire, but their price makes uo for it at $78 per tire.
Just started a thread on the Fuzion tires that are rubbing on my car... where were you guys w/ all this experience a couple of weeks ago? I had only found 1 person with this size and he had no problem... argh.
The car did rub when i was lowered, it was that bad, just rub the fenders a little bit.
When the car was stock (not sure it if was or not, i just raised it up quite a ways) it still rubbed a little bit.
I said to roll the fender because the tires rubbed right on the metal part just inside the wheel well. It was tearing up my tires; so I rolled them and it was fine. It probably rubbed there because my car most likely wasnt completely raised to stock level.
