Is it possible to put a 225/40/17 tire onto our Racing Harts without any rubbing or fitment problems??

That is an oddball size what kind of tires are you looking at that have that size? They might fit, since the 225/45/17 fit, but with a little rub i hear in the rear i think. I think DistantTea tried them.

225/45's fit? they must look like racing slicks...theyll be HUGE. remember that the second number is not a height per se, but rather a PERCENTAGE of the width. so a 225/45 will be taller than a 215/45....my 215/40's were almost a quarter inch taller than stock ride hieght, 225/45's will prolly be at least a half inch taller! lets not even talk about rubbing either...especially if you plan to lower the vehicle later on.

the tires that came with the car if you want to keep in 45 series tires. you should be able to go with 215/40 series tires.

Let's be clear here...Stock MSP tire size is 215-45-17. He wants to try to go wider, (ie 225). Scapamouche (i think) was running 225-45-17 Azenis, and i'm pretty sure he said they rubbed.
The tire calculator tells us that 225-40-17 is smaller overall than stock, so the only question would be if they rubbed due to the width (225). That, i can't answer.

what tires are you looking in that come in that size?

Why bother risking it? Go with the stock size since you know it fits.
