Oil change schedules at low mileage

I just bought a new 2025 CX-5 S back on Sept. 28th, 2025. Have only driven about 2,400 miles on the car. The dealer gives three years of maintenance. Should I get the oil changed in the next month making it a six month oil change?

I got my first change at 2,000 miles. 2nd one will be at 5,000 and then every 5,000 miles thereafter.

So yes, you're at a good mileage for the first change.

When I get a brand new car, I change the engine oil the first time at approximately 1,000 miles, then go to my normal intervals after that.
If the dealer provided the initial maintenance, the first one was on me.

I'd wait the year at that mileage. Then just do annually.

I'm basically in the same situation with my 2016. When I first purchased it I had the first oil change at 3,500 miles then each one after at apprx. 1 year.
At 11 years next month it has 49,600 on the odo.

I'm in the habit of doing an "early" first oil change. After that I'd do it yearly, or twice a year depending on mileage.
