4 years for a battery isn't great, but if you're in a hot region not too awful. Mileage doesn't matter. The number of starts does matter. That said, the battery on my 2016 is doing fine. The higher CCA (cold cranking amps) you get on the replacement, the longer that replacement will last you. A recent "Consumer Reports" rated the better Walmart battery as the best they tested for our size, Group 35.
My brake pads are fine at 40,000 miles. It's all about one's driving style and the honesty of the repair shop. I'm OK wearing the pads down to about 4 mm of remaining friction material. I'm OK reusing the discs unless they're moderately grooved or thinned.
