Update: I took my 16 CX-5 to my mechanic. He determined that was a leak in one of the low pressure or high pressure valves. Replaced them and also refilled the freon and added a dye just in case. The AC is now very cold and works well.
He mentioned that he was hearing a hissing sound on one of the valves when he was looking at it to determine the issue.Great. Glad you got it corrected.
Interesting, though, to see a valve issue on one of the lines so clearly impacting temps out certain vents but not others. I guess it's related to how much force (or "oomph") that flow imparts on the air flow. I wouldn't have bet on that. But, it was.
