Just got my CX5 couples of weeks ago. very excited. But I accidentally found out something is leaking from the passenger dashboard towards center when I park the car today.
I drove the car and found out it is actually water which is leaked from the bottom. Is it normal? Anyone else has the same problem I had? I think this could be the water leak from AC.

Should I bring it back to the dealer and ask them to have it fixed or any suggestions.

Thanks in advance!!

I'm assuming you're concerned about dripping water from outside under the car right ?
not inside the passenger cabin (if so, then you have a clogged AC drain)

if dripping water is outside under the car then this is completely normal,
it's the condensation water from the AC unit.

I'd be more worried if I don't see dripping water under the car on a humid day after running the AC unit,
that would mean a clogged drain.....

see here to fix clogged AC drain https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123856340-Unclog-a-c-drain-and-remove-musty-smell-easily

Yea, you are exactly right. Does the water condensation only happen after running AC for a while?

Thanks man, problem solved.

It gets cold. Water condenses on the surface. It drips. In my Trans Am, it dripped down the exhaust, and caused a rust at the juncture of the exhaust tube bends, and really sucked. It caused a faulty O2 lean code and had to be welded up. At least I doubt the CX-5 suffers THAT. GM had a bad time 1998-2002.

Good point Unobtanium, I think we're ok with the CX-5, when I checked the location of the Cx-5 drip hole,

it is behind a heat shield with no obstructions or exhaust underneath, and

way clear of the exhaust pipe and oxygen sensor (you can see in photo below)

so we're all good, the water just drip directly to the ground

OP, if using the AC for extended period and there's NO water leaking then that's the real problem. It means that pipe is clogged and may create a moldy environment. Thankfully the CX-5 has a pretty good draining system unlike BMW.

The AC doesn't contain water, only refrigerant gas... that is condensation dripping from the coil. The more humid it is, the more you'll see.
