I have a 2015 touring cx-5, since I brought this car, I start have some issues with the transmission. The car will jerking forward when you approaching a stop sign and let you foot off gas. Shift from D to R will delay for 2-3 seconds, if you give gas it will jerk too. I went to the dealership, they said they didn't feel any jerking behavior or anything. But they updated the transmission module, so I tested drive it in parking lot. The delay is slightly fixed, so I thought maybe it wan't a big deal. I went home and the jerking problem seems gone. Then the next day morning, when I driving in my around my office, I start to feel the car is little sharking and little bit jerking forward when I give gas. It feel like it up shift one gear and immediately down shift back, so I kind have the leggy feel. Beside that the car drives fine, everything else work perfect. I am not sure is it just how the Skyacvtive transmission behaviors or something else. Can you guys tell me about how your transmission acting when driving in normal road.

I have not noticed much different about my CX-5 vs. other autos I've driven, honestly. There is a delay when you floor it while the TC re-engages. That's it.

Shift delay? Jerking? No, a good transmission shouldn't do that! Not even the unique SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission! I think you're one of the few lucky guys owning the CX-5 having the transmission problem. I'd try to get transmission replaced like others having the similar symptoms. If your dealer refuses to do anything, call Customer Experience Center at Mazda North American Operations trying to resolve the issue.

Take it back to the dealer or find another dealer. That is not normal behavior. I have no jerking and no shift delay.
This sounds like a transmission problem. Just search this site, you'll see a few posts with symptoms similar if not exact to yours.

Since "jerking" is subjective, why don't you keep the variables controlled by asking the dealer to test drive another CX-5. At least the dealer won't blame it on your foot or driving behavior. Would be best if you can ask a dealer person to sit in both cars while you or s/he drives, so you can both talk about the jerk and differences between the two cars when it happens.

Not sure if what you're describing is the same as what I feel when driving. I tend to notice when slowing down to brake, the last downshift from 2 or 3 to 1 has a slight 'let go' or jerk feeling... or is that just normal for a 16.5 AWD? However, haven't felt anything while in reverse.
