2015 CX-5 GT w/Nav and Teck Pkg...Loud Gong sound from dash while driving?

Have had my 2015 CX-5 for about a week now and today at speeds under 35mph, a LOUD single gong sound came from the dash (quite loud) about every 10 seconds. There were no warning lights in the dash and the Nav was off. After looking in the manuals, it appeared that safety cameras could be the culprit, but they were turned off.

Other info: Again no warning lights in the dash, 3/4 full fuel , Nav not on...Radio on...all else seems normal...I am at a loss! Turning the radio off seemed to silence it, so I presume it was still the Nav warning of something?

Any help is appreciated! TIA

Not sure... that does sound like the traffic camera alert but you said you had that turned off. I guess just keep an eye on it and see if there is anything reproducible.

Thanks for the reply!

Thank you Kedis82ZE8...I double checked and the Traffic Camera alerts are turned off...Also drove back to the intersection where it went off to visually checked for a TC camera (not sure if Reno, Nv even has any!) Wonder what else may be transmitting on that freq.
We are not talking about a city intersection...just a 4 way traffic light intersection in the "burbs".
Hmmm...come to think of it, I wonder if the Nav is picking up the signal (whatever is used) that changes the lights...I do know that some type cameras are used...

Will check with the city or DOT on Monday! Funny how I just began hearing it...Have driven thru much more congested camera controlled lights (within a mile of where the gong went off) here with no Gong...WEIRD.

Must be of some importance...Quite LOUD!

My dealer was of no help with this, and even though it is part of the car, treats any Nav issues as though it is TomTom's problem...Maybe so, but they should run interference for me, since there is no separate warranty that I can discern...will escalate this on Monday

Just did a bit of checking with the Nav turned on...Yes it is picking up that intersection showing something!! A little dude with an "s" shows up on the Nav display. I would have assumed that meant Safety camera, however the alert sound is set to a different sound and is OFF in the services menu.
I am not sure how the darned thing works...but it is quite comprehensive and a bit daunting to say the least.

I know that some 2016 owners have complained of a lack of customization on their Navteq units...I do like the TomTom Nav as well as the Garmin Portable that I used previously. This TomTom Nav is the most customizable unit that I have played with...daunting as it may be...it is appreciated for what it is.

Loud Gong sound...Not Traffic!

Finally figured it out! It is not a safety camera...It is warning me of a school zone!!! (turned it off since I do watch carefully and the sound is distracting!

New issue...After a DAY OR TWO OF SITTING...THE NAV COMPLAINS OF no maps! HAVE TO OPEN THE SD CARD DOOR, REMOVE AND RE-INSERT THE SD CARD AND THEN IT IS OK!...weird stuff.

I forgot about that one :-) ... when I first got my CX I had all those alerts turned on. I only leave the traffic camera alert on now.

Yikes...There must be 8 school crossings near my house. I am forever going 15 mph :)...with all those alerts going off, you must have gone bonkers! I think I have the setup where I want it now...finally 12 days later....

More important, I know my way around this sucker. Tomorrow will be interesting. A trip to the dealer to try and discover why the Nav is forever locking up...requiring a reset. :(
