2014 CX-9 Touring w/AWD - Not sure if AWD is working properly
Hello all, I'm new to the forums but have read that there was been a lot of problems with the AWD working properly in the past on the CX-9 and am wondering if the AWD on my 2014 is also defective. I currently have about 5,500 miles on the car and with the recent snow, it seems that there is a problem whenever I accelerate from a stop on snow covered roads. For example, when I'm at a stop and try to do a hard acceleration with any snow on the ground, my rear wheels spin without the car going forward. After about 2 seconds, all at once it feels like my front wheels will start pulling the car, the rear wheels will stop spinning and the car then starts going forward. It almost feels like there's delay in the AWD working properly, although based on what I've read here, since the front wheels are supposed tio start out with all the power they should be spinning, which is the opposite of what I've experienced. I've also had someone observe the car while I'm accelerating and they've confirmed that the rear wheels are the one's spinning. In addition, when the rear wheels are spinning, I get the picture of a car with the 2 squiggly lines lights up on the dashboard until the car starts going forward. I also find that if I hit the gas pedal when going around a corner and there's snow on the ground, the rear end will start to slide and fishtail and I have to back off on the gas until the car stops sliding to continue my turn and accelerate forward. I've had other AWD vehicles in the past and never experienced this spinning and slipping that I described above. If you have any thoughts on this, it would be appreciated. Thanx
