Yeah, I don't think I would describe the Speed6 as kart like... but all I need to do is hop in my father's Buick Roadmaster for a quick drive to change my mind. :)

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE MY MS6, in the rain, or ice, it is simply incredile, but kart-like is not in my list of suitable descriptive words for it.

for those who plan on keeping their current ms6.. till lat 2011 - what are u goin to do.. trade it in....??

think how lil it will be worth in 4-5yrs...

as it is.. i got mine for $17,900 w/ 24k on it.... all bone stock... 2006 GT - loaded w/ homelink mirror, minus nav... & thats only 2-3yrs old.. so another 2yrs... should bring the value down dramatically... u know...

ohh well hopefully some1 out there will want to buyy my car by then...

If they release a bi-turbo set up to compete w/ the s4.... im all over it...

the only reason i didnt buy a s4 this time around.. is the brake down like crazy.. my buddy has one.. & the turbo have gone on it several times...
Incl... wheel bearings...electrical issues... all NOT covered under warranty... heh

@ least mazda has a Great warranty...

I can see a twin-turbo V6 Ecoboost happening as that Ford engine had been in development for a long time and is supposed to go into the MKS soon IIRC.

They'd better offer a manual tranny with that engine 'cause I ain't going to a slushbox, even if it does get to 60 faster and gets better mileage.

^^^^^^

Yeah the depreciation sucks, but when I bought this car I traded in a car I didn't WANT. I lost money, but my rational was that there is no reason to finance a car I don't want to keep. So I bought the MS6. I know I'll like it for at least 5 yrs, so I am gonna keep it, possibly forever, like my MSP.

Once the new MS6 comes out (unless they make an AWD Speed3) the MSP, and MS6 will both be paid off, so just one more to add to the stable. My goal is to have one of each of every Mazdaspeed sold in the U.S. in my garage. Preferably in black, white, and titanium.

Again, to be clear. Mazda has made no formal or informal announcements in regards to a twin turbo mazda 6. Here or in japan.

but there have been articles of twin turbo Mazdas in general. with paddle shifting twin clutch transmissions, aka the next gen RX716x. the fact that it exists means theres a chance they will apply it to their Mazdaspeed cars too. Turbos are being mass produced for almost all car companies. they are swimming in K04s. lets slap 2 on to everything.

They only exist as CONCEPTS at this point. Right now everyone is getting a hard-on for a car that doesn't exist. Sorry guys, but it's too soon right now to say for sure we'll see another MS6. If you wanna save for something, go right ahead, but it is not even part of the plan right now. After the slow sales year for even the regular 6, any plans that MAY have been in the pipeline are surely under consideration at this point for feasibility.

I have to agree with Killer on this one. I'll believe it when I see it. Let this thread die slowly now...

in three years we'll continue this conversation, and you can buy me many apology beers all you naysayers, leave us glass half full types to our dreams.

i think that they should do a twin-sequential job on an inline 4 rather than the v6 non-sequential. that would be one hell of a set-up. all of the torque of inline + a twin set-up.

I am just running a stock setup. Believe me it doesnt feel like a truck. If any of my trucks ever handled like this car I would have kept em! :)

For a daily driver, I am very pleased with the stock setup.

Don't get me wrong. I am not complaining about the handling of the MS6 per se, it is just in comparison to my MS3 or my previous MSP it is a bit of a pig. A beautifully sexy pig, but a RELATIVE pig nonetheless. Regardless, I still want to track it when I get the chance and $$$$.

I heard from my friend's cousin's uncle that there is going to be a 2013 MS6 with 420hp with a quad turbo V6 that may get 30 mpg highway.

I guess you didn't get the point of my post. I wouldn't expect any "inventory managers" words on the release of valuable info like that. Especially info that wouldn't be coming out until 2 years form now at least. Just think about how reliable those sources before you post something like that, "Myriad".

i'm still in the "i'll believe it when i see it" boat.

as a side note, no mazdaspeed to date has been released with two different engine options...takes more R&D and means higher production costs in a limited run vehicle, so, even if this does happen, i highly doubt we'd see two engines.

Nowhere in my post was I defending unproven speculation, just commenting on how it seems you may be a bit far from home with a name like SayNoToPistons. It was meant in the same good nature as the quad turbo comment (enguard).

he isn't just an inventory manager, he was also one of the few people who got to test the mazdaspeed 6 and cx7 in canada, before they were released at all, period. 2ndly, if mazda is selling a car over 30k, they better stock in full of s*** thats better than everyone else, or no one will buy it. mazda has 3 options, wankel, miata, and speed series, miata is trapped in perfection, 21st century wankel so far sucks, and the mazdaspeed6 is their most expensive sedan. why wouldn't you offer a twin turbo v6 to completely annihilate the EVO, STI, 370z, G37s, S4, 335i, is350, . Mazda cars have always used their accessable price/sports technology to outdo all other brands. and they will definitely use the 2.5disi, because isn't that whats going into the 2010speed3? annnnd they're planning the mazdaspeed5 and mazdaspeed2, like i said, K04s for everybody! they are going to make a turbo6twinclutch because the biggest drawback to the MS6 was the fact it only came in manual (not for me, but for the stupid public) when the ms3 comes out with this option as a "spec" upgrade in '11, watch out for the 6 to return. again these are just predictions, and they dont require your opinion if your opinion doesnt include some constuctive elements to it. your 2 cents may be donated to the Seven Eleven take a penny tray instead.

plus one...

so many accounts of folks hearing this or that from their local dealers who supposedly has had a hand in development.. research what have you on future models...
been around long enough to know that a great deal of this talk equates to blowin smoke.. specially from an inventory manager..

the fact that what exists... are you referrin to articles...
next gen seven has been a rumour nearing two decades now...

With this kind of logic it is a good thing you dont own a car company. (lol2)
