2012 Mazda3 2.5L…What kind of transmission fluid does it need?

We have a 2012 Mazda 3 2.5 with automatic transmission and I want to replace the transmission fluid as it is really dark. My question is what kind of transmission fluid does it need from Mazda? Car has 82000 miles and we bought it new…Thanks!

Which transmission does it have? The Skyactive 6 speed should get only Mazda's fluid...ATF FZ...or the same stuff made by Aisin (they make the Skyactive transmission). I used Mercon V in my 2011 which had the earlier JaTCo 5 speed automatic and it ran perfectly .

But if ever you need to know, check your owner's manual.
