Hello all! Just bought a brand new 2012 CX-9 Touring about a month ago. When we picked it up, we noticed a few dimples in the paint and a huge scratch on the tailgate. (The dealership,CardinaleWay Mazda in Peoria, fixed it without any issues). When we got it back, we did notice a few more new dimples on the taligate finisher. After doing some research, i found out that where the dimples are, correlate to where the mounting screws of the finisher are placed. These mounting screws are bolted down with 10mm nuts to the tailgate. I am assuming that when this vehicle was built, the factory overtightend these nuts and caused a dimple like effect on the outside of the finisher.
Has anyone else noticed this? *These dimples are precisely located on each side of the Mazda emblem and on the ends of the finisher.
