2011 Mazda3 Sport Aux not working

Hello all,
I recently purchased a used 2011 Mazda3 Sport from a dealership and went to use the aux to find that when pressing the button on the console, it does not respond. I tried the mode button on the steering wheel which yielded no results. I was wondering if it could be the aux input or something may have failed in the stereo. The cable I used does work and have tried it on other cars. Any possible solutions/suggestions would help!

The aux button is also the same for bluetooth audio. Is your phone connected by Bluetooth at the same time ? If yes and if you see a little music note icon on the car display then the aux mode is waiting for music through Bluetooth.

Does it work similarly to the Mazda5? It doesn't work unless you have something plugged in the AUX port. If something is plugged in, it switches off the SAT input. On our 2010 it didn't work even if a cable was plugged in and I had to solder the AUX input to force it to stay on AUX because SANYO makes crappy ports for these cars.
