2011 Mazda2 Reverse light wire under dash?

Reviving this thread to add these pictures if it helps anyone in the future:
Should make it easier to just run the combo composite+power wire. Hook the headunit reverse trigger to the reverse wire by the bcm/c-03. Then either also splice the cam power here, or attach it to the radio acc / amp to have it always on / radio controlled (if your headunit supports showing the reverse cam without being in reverse). Tack the cam ground to something in the back.

I tapped the passenger side backup-up light. The camera I used works perfectly without drawing too much from the lighting circuit. I also added a button on the dash (on the Metra head unit adapter to avoid drilling the original car). It sends power back to the camera to activate it and trigger the screen. To avoid having it turn on the back-up lights and vice versa I fabricated a simple high current diode circuit to keep each from passing current to the other.
