2011 Mazda2 1.5 l Any Turbo Kits? What's recommended?

I think a GT2554R (OEM on MSP Proteg) will be a better match... These like to be at 12-15psi, and so far that seem like the max boost we can ran on those little MZR's. I think that 200whp @ 12psi would be safe, with a conservative tune...

What would you think?

maybe for manual but auto (like i and that other guy was asking) i think 5-8psi 150-180 would be awesome for a DD i think 200 to 250 (Like that one manual guy is running) would be awesome for track/fun.

If I boosted mine I would only boost to 160hp top. Not for fear of over boost but with a car as light as ours and 60% more horsepower that's plenty for me.

I'm actually waiting on Dynotronics to give me some details and photos of the Mazda 2 turbo they say they have already developed. They say all they have to do is install it into their shop Mazda 2. I'm waiting patiently. (whistle)

Dont tease man!! If you start selling a kit I will not be able to resist getting my mitts on one :)

ok, so you guys want the turbo kit? I have been sitting on the parts here for a while, since we had been focused on the mazda 3 2.5 development(261 at the wheels NA), and our new tuning suite for the MX5. But now I have a bit of breathing room here, and if there is TRUE INTEREST, I will get started with the install.

I can tell you this so far; the 1.3 ltr version now has 6000 miles on it with the turbo, and makes 132 whp and 185 nm tq @3800 on 6.5 lbs. It is a riot to drive!

I expect the 1.5 version to be in the 155 range on the same boost, as we have the better cams here and a better intake runner volume.

BTW, those numbers were generated on a stock engine, so lower no internal mods are needed.

DO IT! I think everybody who owns a mazda2 would love to replicate the "speed2". This will be as close as we can get since it pretty much won't go into production. I am defenitely interested in this. 155 range would be perfect. more than enough and not overkill. Please keep us posted with updates, pictures, and whatever other info you have.

Please please please :)!!!! i feel 155 would be perfect, reliable and would take the 2 to a whole new level!

Is there an approx. price range for the kit? Any ecu tuning, chip, flash that would come with the kit? What else would come in the kit.. general details, not specifics cause I know you have to keep trade secrets.

i feel all we need is a small turbo like gt15 running maybe 5-8psi for around 160hp (like dyno is going for) and a piggyback ecu like the AEM fic. wouldnt need an intercooler or anything since its so small and low boost. would save alot on a whole kit. id be willing to buy if it was a nice complete kit =] then ill buy a nice tranny cooler and new radiator cuz i like it cold.

Exactly how i feel buddy, if the kit is nice and complete... I will purchase for sure :)

Definately interested in the UK,
the only thing stopping me doing it now is the lack of manifold but if you were to offer a kit with all the parts complimenting each other this would be perfect!!

155BHP is perfect for this weight and size car, any more power and we're going to be finding the limits of the internals (and or drive train)

Very excited about this! :D

luckily my friends work at a big tuning/fab shop in houston so i was gonna have them make me a manifold for cheap. so i dont need that as part of this BUT.

like some kits online you can buy they have the turbo already on the exhaust manifold which was made just for (lets say the mazda2). so you do have to spend more to get custom stuff.

so i guess we need

>turbo
>new manifold for turbo
>piggyback ecu
>hectick dose pipe australian style for mad turbo flutter mate!

also looking at those pics of the other turbo 2s corksports intact duct would be good to direct air into the filter that (like most the kits i see) sits where the old ecu was next to the battery.

I've been very seriously looking at doing a turbo install so a built to order kit at 155 would be exactly what I want. Don't tease though!

As a related question... has anyone ever checked out the VTES system by Controlled Power Technologies out of the UK? Is it even feasible? It sounds like it would be PERFECT for our cars...

I'm interested depending the price, obviously. Anybody have a possible target price?

Can't cost that much

The parts probably not but recouping the development costs is what makes things expensive.
