2011 CX-9 Display Error

I recently bought a used 2011 CX-9. The center display unit does not work. The message reads "A program is not found. Please consult to a dealer.". But, everything seems to work otherwise - radio, CD, hands free blue tooth - through the steering wheel. None of the other buttoms around the screen work either. Has anyone else had this issue? I took it to a dealer and was told the whole unit had to be replaced and it costs nearly $5k.

Your 2011 cx9 should still be within the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty so this should be covered even though you bought it used.

I bought it salvaged so unfortunately there's no warranty.

Wow, your better off installing a new quality head unit from Pioneer or Kenwood, it'll be cheaper than paying stealership $5k on the OEM head unit. Or try buying a cheap used CX9 head unit off Ebay and just do a simple swap, there's a YouTube video, search "CX9 stereo removal" it's very easy to remove the head unit.
