2010 Mazdaspeed 3 Pics and info

if you all think that the new front end is bad on the Mazdas, you should see the Accra's. talk about bad!

+1!!!

True but the new TL has grown on me...after seeing a brown on brown TL SH-AWD with optional wheels and some other sweet treats at the auto show, they are pretty sweet.

I don't think I will ever like that front end, no matter how much I see it. Same as the 3i's withe the chrome strip on top of the grill. At least you could get some auto striping tape and black them out. And for those that like the chrome look, they don't have to do anything.

^^ and that is exactly what will happen with the 3. hard to swallow at first, but it will grow on you

I had the same reaction to the face-lift model 3, but I have gotten used to it now. Sad, but I'm sure that sooner or later I will get used to the '10's too.

This car looks great from some angles, and really bad in others. i need to see it in person before I decide. The look of the normal 3 is growing on me as well.

What I wish for is AWD. I mean if your going after the wrx, then GO AFTER IT! They got the awd system, make it happen.

as an option would be nice. i mean I understand why some don't want AWD. But up here, before I even seen the MS3, I had already decided on the MS6 due to AWD. The weather up here just doesn't work well with high power fwd setups.

I was hoping someone would mention the new TL design. JFC they ruined that car. The back lights were what made the car look so dope. Now it looks like every other car on the market. It was one of my favorites too.

I agree. That's the first thing i thought, it was a f#*$ing matrix. Only the matrix prob looks better. And what's up with duel exhaust, cant they just leave well enough alone.

I will wait for the Ford Focus RS...

Jost Capito, recently installed as the man in charge of Fords global performance division, said in an interview with Autocar that it would be too expensive to make the car suitable for sale in the US, despite Fords intentions to bring more European models to America.

Wed like to, but the base car isnt homologated for North America and thats too costly a job to carry out just for a niche vehicle like the RS, said Capito.

Ford will start selling the Fiesta in America next year, and already sells the Transit Connect there.

Anyone who thought the current RS was going to actually come over here has had their head in their ass.

The NEXT RS (that will be based on the next-gen C1 Focus that will be coming to the US), however, still has a pretty good chance of making it here, if you ask me...

forgot about this thread... RS is anyone's dream but too much of a rally car for me. Outgoing mazdaspeed3 was ideal, it's a great balance... nothing screams "over 250 ponies" on the outside but when it goes it goes. Long live that generation.

I got a quick question for you guys. I've been a fan of the 2010 MS3 since they revealed it, but I don't like how obvious the hoodscoop makes the performance of the car. It's too Subaru/Mitsubishi for me, so I was wondering....

Do you think the performance of the engine would be compromised if you put a regular 2010 Mazda3 hood on the 2010 MS3? I mean, there's obviously a reason the scoop is there, but if it's the same engine as the current-gen MS3, then is the scoop even necessary?

I for one think that the looks would be much improved, even if some strongly dislike the smile.

yes it's necessary

The current mazdaspeed3 has it's hoodscoop integrated into the grille with ductwork running behind the grille into the intercooler. The 2010 doesn't have this design instead they use a traditional hoodscoop. Removing the scoop would kill the airflow to the intercooler thereby killing turbo performance. So no scoop is not possible. Hope this helps answer your question
