I got a hold of a slightly used 2010 CX-9 Bose CD-Changer unit. Does anyone here know if I can connect it to my 2007 non-Bose equipped CX-9? I was able to connect it and mount it and it powers up fine. However, when I turn up the volume it only goes up to one level (low) no matter if it is at level 1 or level 50 volume. It also does not sound clear, sort of staticky. If anyone out there knows what I have to do to make this head unit work properly I would greatly appreciate it. If I can't make it work, I will have a 2010 Mazda CX-9 Bose CD-Changer/MP3 head unit for sale.

I believe that you need more than just the headunit to run the Bose stereo. Most of the brand name stereo upgrades they use in factory systems, have an amp with them that is seperate from the head unit. So, the Bose headunit does not have enough power to run the speakers by itself, therefore is sounds like crap. I know on the 2003 Mazda 6 with Bose that is how it is, plus an old Toyota Solara my wife used to have that had a JVC stereo in it.

Thanks guys, looks like more work then its worth for me.

Sounds like I have 2010 CX-9 Bose 6-CD Changer/MP3 headunit for sale in case anyone is interested on a spare, replacement or whoever is willing to adapt it to a non-Bose equipped CX-9. PM me if your interested.
