There's no amber reflector on the front and it's hard to tell if there is a red reflector on the rear or if the red is a reflection of a traffic light.

But with no amber reflector, this can't be the US spec model.

And that's disappointing, because I was hoping this meant there would finally be some advertising for the Mazda5.

It should look very similar to the one pictured anyway. Possibly not all the 08 NA parts are yet "finished" so it may be a mix of NA 07 and JDM 08 so to step up the marketing effort. Just check the antenna and the side moldings. Mr. Photoshop will put the rest of the parts in the ads once available.

IMO the last items needed to complete puzzle are the 2nd row a/c vents in the center console. The 08 JDM model does not even have a console it seems, so it will be interesting. Here is screenshot from the www.premacy.mazda.co.jp site (damn Flash animation :D)

There is an amber bulb in the rear tail lights as well as an amber bulb in the headlights...It's completely legal in California to have cleared corners on your headlight assembly...There are a lot of imports sold here (Scion being one I am certain of) that offers cleared front and rear tail lights...As long as there's an amber bulb, you're good to go :D

Seeing it in a real photo, I can definitely say I'm a fan of the new front fascia afterall...It's a lot more aggressive looking than the Japanese CGI pics illustrate...Those tail lights I'm still not too sure about...

Yes, it's legal to use white bulbs for your front turn signals. But we aren't talking about turn signals.

All vehicles sold in the USA must have an Amber side reflector in the front and a Red side reflector in the rear.

All US Scion's comply with this FMVSS regulation. This particular MZ5 does not.

I know what you guys were referring to...I wasn't talking about using white bulbs in your turn signals...I was talking about Scions being available from the dealership with OEM clear headlights and tail lights...

My xB in particular came with OEM cleared out HID's, but ran an amber bulb in the turn signals...My tail lights were clear TYC with nothing more than two red bulbs and one white...My Scion (like any other you can buy from the dealership) didn't have any reflectors in the light assemblies...

So, it is possible to legally sell this new Mazda 5 as it is pictured above...At least in California...As long as it has an amber bulb in the turn signal spot up front, and a red flashing turn signal in the tails, it meets the DOT guidelines :D

FMVSS 108 says that ALL car's sold in the USA, including California, must have a side reflector in the front that is amber and a side reflector on the rear that is red. There must also be a red reflector on the very rear of the car.

All SCION's sold in California must, and do, conform to "Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard" 108.

Take notice of the amber side reflectors.

Where are they on a 2007 CA. Mazda 5? I don't see a pic of that here.
