Not being familiar with how the tests and the scores are done, BUT, being a good driver, does anyone know if the 5 was penalized on the roll-over test because it doesn't have stability control?


Looks like those light weight rear doors could use a little more stiffness...

I'll provide my non-expert answer here, but see the numbers for a Rondo, which has ESC standard. I don't see a noticeable difference.


2008 Rondo:
Chance of rollover 13%
Static Stability Factor 1.32
Dynamic Test Result No-tip*
Drive FWD
Tire Size P205/60R16

2008 Mazda5:
Chance of rollover 14%
Static Stability Factor 1.30
