Hi,
I'm a complete newbie to the forum, and would really appreciate some advice from Mazda experts please.
I need a new engine for my Mazda 3, 2007, manual 6 speed, petrol 2.0. I've already got the wrong engine once (despite giving the breakers the reg. number) and am completely confused as to how to find the right engine. My mechanic says it needs to have VVT, and an electronic throttle, and one breaker has assured me that a Mazda 6 engine will be fine, but the part went before I could investigate further. Finding any Mazda 3 engine has been hard enough, so if I can widen the search to a Mazda 6 too, that would be great... but not if that was duff advice.
I know my engine code was LF024996. What engines can I search for? My mechanic suggested a Ford engine would be OK, but my internet searches haven't given me any clue what Ford engine... or confirmed if a Mazda 6 engine could be a match.
Any advice to save me making an expensive mistake, and to get me back on the road will be very, very much appreciated!
Thanks to anyone who can help, or point me to somewhere that could.
Joanne
