The 2007 Element is a lot like the 2006. The only new features added to the current model range are standard stability control, side curtain airbags and integrated front seat belts. The engine also produces an extra 10 hp compared to last year, bringing the total to 166 hp. But there is an all-new trim level that might spur some interest.

The Element SC (shown here) is a youth-inspired version of the standard model. It features a lowered sport suspension; unique grille, headlights, color scheme and wheels; steering wheel audio controls; and a standard manual transmission. The strangest change? The floor is carpeted! The Element made a name for itself with an all-plastic floor to aid in utility. Were not quite sure how the carpeting decision was made, but it probably had something to do with Scions funky xB.

Prices for the Element start at $18,900 considerably higher than last years figure of $17,750. The SC starts at $22,695. All of them go on sale today.

I was like Dang a supercharge element....but alas it's only a lame appearance package. I hate misleading badging. The SC looks better than a scion xB I gues but I would not touch either with a ten foot pole!

HOLY CRAP!!! they finally finished painting it!! :D

I think it looks way better than the xb now. carpet + painted body panels = FTW!!

looks like a truck with a badly designed hatch, sorry, better yes, but still don't like it.

my friend bought one of the elements with the plastic unpainted panels. it totally fits who she is, especially the durability and functionality of the inside.

I wouldnt get one myself as I think its kinda a chick car but I like it, definitely dont mind riding in it. the scion is total trash IMO, but the element is nice

^^ yeah the utility aspect of the element seems to be unmatched (no carpet, "durable" unpainted panels, etc) but I think it looks rather nice all cleaned up and primped too.

I'd take a Mazda5 over it though :) :) Mazda5 + turbo kit for the 2.3 = mini-minivan OWNAGE

My cousin had an 06 Orange Element that was all basically painted with a few plactic pieces not painted.

i saw a pic once of a black element with painted body panels lowered a little on some nice wheels. looked quite sharp.

I definitely like the subtle appearance changes they have made here in the 07, looks sharp.

i like it. it's so versatile. even the nuts from top gear think it's one of the cooler hondas they sell in the UK

My dad has one, auto EX, Sat. radio, everything you can think of. I took it to the Beach the first week he had it. I was very suprised with the ride. After 3 hrs of driving I did not have the sore but problem. And it was a breeze to clean. The one and only bad thing to the car is you can't drive with the windows down. The wind hits you right in the head.

Yeah, I like the look of the new Element, with it's painted panels and the front end looks better too. I like the non-carpeted version better though. I seriously considered the Element when I was shopping for cars. Unfortunately I couldn't find a manual tranny so I looked elsewhere. Then I found the P5...(drive)
