2006 Mazda6 Foglight

Can anyone confirm for me what type bulb to use for the foglight on an 2006 model.

Most places say H3, including a thread on this site, but that seems to only be true through 2005. The owners manual say H11, but past experience has proven owners manuals to be wrong. Plus there's another thread here talking about the foglight in the headlight housing. Don't think the 06 has an actual light there anymore (I thought it was just a chrome cover, I'll have to look more closely now.

Hoping someone here has replaced there's at some point and can confirm.

Looking to swap to yellow fog bulbs. Nothing fancy since my car is a lease

on www.xtralights.com they say its an H3 but you have to be careful, im not sure if the 6 is like this but on the 3 the bulb can not just be replaced says the manual. it says you have to replace the whole thing which is really rediclious if you ask me. but they say h3 as well.

The owner manual just says to unscrew and pull back the wheel well cover to get to the fog bulbs.

So does your 3 take the H11 bulb like the website state? If so, and the 6 does indeed take the H11 (maybe mazda made that change on all 06 models) that would make me wonder if the 6 is like the 3 in regard to replacement.

guess I'll have to bite the bullet and open it up before getting bulbs...

well when i looked in the manual it didnt even tell me a bulb it told me to take it to mazda which sucks. but try calling your local dealer and just be like listen i want to upgrade my fog lights do i have to replace the housing or can i just replace the bulb. if you got it at a nice dealer they should help you no problem. the dealer i got my car from is great so far.

My speed6 fogs are definatly H11's. I swapped them out for yellow bulbs.

Can you provide a short 'how-to' remove stock fog bulbs???
