2004 SRT-4 stage 1 vs. Thumper MSP

nope, it spools up much faster than you think... 3k or so. and with a 3071 it would be even faster.... the tubular mani goes a long way to help it spool up faster.

I know that a mazdaspeed wit a thumper kit from msprotege.com is from here in omaha.ive been hearing about this yellow speed being built like a brick s*** house for months. looks like it'll bad as HELL

No way that even the 3071 would spool that fast. My guess would be closer to 4k... if it hits 11psi before 3800 I would be shocked. 28RS on the other hand, with a tubular manny, MBC that is tuned to give some extra spool up enhancement, and a 3" exhaust, I hit 12psi at 2800-2900.:eek: I guess that's why Garrett nicknamed the GT28RS prototype that was running on the disco Sentra "the turbocharger that made superchargers obsolete.":p Sucker spools so early... truely amazing.
 
lol... full boost doesnt happen till about 4200 i believe, but dont quote me. there is lag say for instance if i punch it in second at 3K rpms i will have a second or 2 where im like "get ready here we go"... then after 4K its all gravy..

im happy. hopefully the aic controller will supply me with what i need to go to 17 psi or so.

You need some sort of timing control man, especially with a flashed PCM... I am pulling A LOT of timing up top even at only 12psi on my smaller turbo.
 
are you pulling timing because you were getting knock? or because the afrs were too high?

no doubt i need some timing control... i might just go with th mpi.... you suggest it?

So let me this right on this set up you run a 1/4 mile time of 13.5 is this correct? And you put down 266whp. Now what is your set up as of now and what do you think you will run in the 1/4? The reason im asking is this: I run 13.5s on drag radials on 10 psi with my mods listed below. At 101 mph. I only dynod 203 whp and 212 tqe. So im just curious as to the set up you run. Not trying to thread jack or be inconsidrate. A neon with stage one i think runs on 18 psi if im nt right correct me. Ive seen them run 13.8s all day stage 1 kits. I think our cars are much better for 10 psi of boost with ems system. But great vids man just be safe on the street. Dont need you being a statistic.
 
was reading on the srt forum, most of them say nice car nice kill, but i had to laugh at the ones who complain that its not a fair race... lol 11psi 2.0l vs 2.4 l 14psi spiking 19psi... i would say that is fair..
 
They all cry when they get beat by a car with less boost and more power. They are just like hondas they cry like bitches also.

If you're planning on just going with a EIC setup then you can do exactly what I am with the mpi and do the EIC and timing only. It works really good with the fm clamp on the o2.

Oh, and I am pulling that much timing just to be safe, I haven't heard any knocking ever since I went with this setup of not using the analog on the mpi.

lol yeah but still I must admit I'm amazed at the positive responses. I would have thought otherwise. My concept of a SRT-4 owner isn't the kind of kind guys that posted on the SRT forum thread... Sometimes it's good to get our prejudices undone.

i agree, most of them complimented him and said that the msp looks better in styleings.. one of them was a previous msp owner and said he loved it when he had it..
 
just checked on my car... full boost is about 4050-4100 rpms. kinda late, yet still fun :)
