2003 6...lemon?

here is a sugestion...
why not take your car to a private shop and let them diagnose the problem when the same thing happens???

Just cause a mechanic works at a Mazda dealer he can still be a dumb ass and overlook a simple problem...

Update

July 9th was the day Mazda Inc. had given us for some kind of an answer on this car. By late in the day on the 9th nothing from Mazda so our local dealer jumped at them without us asking. Mazda delayed all until Wednesday the 14th. Our dealer is unable to discuss anything that is said between them and Mazda Inc. until this is over but some that work at the dealer have let it slip to us that we will be happy with the outcome. If we are that will be the first time I have seen a car buyer taken care of in this situation.

At this time the awesome 6 is parked at the in laws unusable. It seems to have no first gear with one having to wind the engine way up to catch second before the car will move. That can't be a good thing. Also, there is now a rotten egg smell coming from the car that I understand is another warranty project.

The daughter has been driving a 90 Camry loaner at the expense of my local dealer because Mazda Inc. refuses to pay him for his loaner any longer. She has had no problems with the 4 cylinder Toyota during this time so I think that lets out abuse on her part in this this matter. We also freely let her use our cars (02 F150 and 02 Toyota Highlander) when moving in and out of her college town apartment and there has never been a minutes trouble out of anything but the 6.

I'll keep you posted as this unfolds.

how many miles has she put on the camry? I bought my car in feb and I am barely about to get 6000mi on it and I like to drive so I might do a dc to silver spring fredricsberg bethesda waldorph runs alot. Glat to hear they are gonna take care of you...and as for a private shop...yes I went to 3 and the all came up witht the same conclusion and sent me back to old dealer(dodge) for warenty(4000) and they still clamed nothing was wrong? I put 9500mi on it before trading in for a 6. I been to dealership for many things and only complaing is not getting a pcm update.

certainly is a lot of problems. if possible, i would've taken it to another dealer, just for a second check. hope all goes well in your quest for getting a response from mazda.

The owner of the vehicle should - however - have a right to examine them. Correct?
Oh yeah, totally. If you want to see whats wrong you are welcome to examine them, at least where I work.

Life is quite a bit cheaper here, most cars too, once you do the conversion rate is cheaper here. But here in Qubec we have 2 taxes, a lil ****** up but whatever, we have health care.
