If by non interferance you mean if timing belt breaks....lifters and all that will be safe from damage by piston? Yes the 2.0 is non interferance

Correct, it IS a non-interference engine. The top engine is safe if you bust a belt.

Many threads have been devoted to confusing the issue.
The computer at Advance Automotive even has it wrong.
