Ok hey guys and gals,

So im trying to replace the whole windshield wiper motor. But I have to take out the rear wiper.. I lifted the dust cover and I took off the nut in the wiper.. But the damm thing wont come off.. did I miss something. There is a piece of hard rubber ( almost plastic ) around the wiper arm.. Do I take it off.. and how.. Need to get this done and over with.

Thanks

You missed alot open your hatch pull off the plastic panel on the other side has metal clip's holding it.Then you should see the whole wiper motor and acouple bolt's holding it.

Opp's saw that it was just for the wiper after you get the nut off just pull on the darn thing I had to do the same also till the sucker popped off.

Yes, the nut compresses the grooves of the wiper arm onto the splines of the wiper motor so if it's been on there since 2002, it'll take some working to get it freed up, especially if lots of winter weather has been working on it. Both things are aluminum so I'm pretty sure the corrosion has tried to weld the 2 pieces together but with some prying and working on it you should be able to get it free. If it comes down to breaking it to complete the project, the mazda 6 wagon rr wiper is much sleeker looking and the arm/blade/nut cover = 35.00 in parts from onlinemazdaparts dot com. Good luck............here is the 6 how-to thread with part numbers and instructions................
